Six billion people do not speak German. Therefore I decided to take Spanish next to my Dutch language course. And here we go: Holländisch kommt mir nicht mehr spanisch vor :)
I am sorry my fellow non German-speaking friends. This was just a typical German colloquialism (Dutch does not sound Spanish to me anymore) and can not be really translated into English since it would change the sense. In English I would have said: Dutch does not sound Greek to me anymore. And as you might have figured I don’t take Greek but Spanish lessons. You got it? :) Welcome to Cross Culture :D
Next to 'Hola, me llamo Kati' and 'Estudio comunicación en Rotterdam' and many other nice beginner phrases, I learned that my Dutch Spanish teacher does not just speak perfectly Dutch and Spanish but also English, Portuguese, some German and some Italian next to French. Since we are an international class he always referred to some students languages by saying, Spanish is or is not similar to this or that language considering this or that aspect. Puuuuuuuhhhh.
How frustrating was that. Sitting there in front of a language genius I felt quiet lost knowing that by now I might speak pretty well German and some quiet good English followed by a less good French and Swedish. Okay, I mean I can be satisfied by speaking at least two languages quiet well. I should be but I also just read on a German student website that nowadays a second foreign language is required to have better chances on the job market....
I am sorry that I do not belong to the lucky kids where the mum comes from England, the dad from France and they decided to raise up their little girl in Germany where she will go to a Spanish school :D
I am thankful to who I am and like one of my best friends (Anka) just said: my life is just an incredible present.
Yes I agree and HEY, Argentina here I come :D

okay, I don't remember time when I last speak english. It is too long ago. But instead of this I'm so thankful to read a sentence of mine. A really good feeling, that there are other people who think in this way. But the best thing: it is one of my best friends- kati. I only want to say that I'm very proud of you. You have so less time but you take every possible chance to improve your life and learn something new. That is still crazy, but I hope I can get a part of your energy for going a similar way. Kati, I'm so happy!
So I think it is enough. Maybe I should speak more english for improving this. But I'm too tired now. Maybe I start tommorow ;-))
Bye bye
