Some people honestly think that my life is like a soap opera. I always resisted this idea until my friend Inga told me this week that reading my blog is like watching a soap opera. I suddenly realized that I was basically supporting this whole image. Hmmmm what can I say: it’s just fun and keeps my dear friends and family informed about the fabulous world of Kati B.
:)
Well, but I actually wanted to report about the previous week which stood under the theme: new challenges.
Starting a new language is one thing but starting a new language (Spanish) while also studying another language (Dutch) which you just getting your basic knowledge in is also completely different to starting a new language (Spanish) which is taught in another, not mother tongue, langue (English) while also studying another language (Dutch) which you just getting your basic knowledge in. You got it :) By the way I am doing the last thing and this already brought me to the limits of my capacity of keeping and organizing words in my head.
However challenge number one is pretty innocent compared to challenge number two.
Since me and two other student friends started doing the first international magazine for our university I had to face my second challenge. Being responsible for the layout and the website of the magazine I already started getting familiar with working with Photoshop. Fortunately our project is coached by one of the Art Directors in Holland, Mrs. Sugarman, who is responsible for the layout and design of many magazines in the Netherlands. Unfortunately Mrs. Sugarman also told us to work with InDesign. After having some classes in Photoshop last year I was quiet happy to handle this program and already started working with it. Nonetheless I was told to change to InDesign since this would be the best possibility of working on a magazine. Fine with me. Otherwise life could be so eeeeeaaasssyyyy :D
Now I am sitting in front of my computer and could just smash it and cry...haha.
And like two challenges would not be enough I now started reading a book about making a website in 24 h.
I am curious if this works out for me, the technical genius. I will probably work on this for weeks. Too bad that my mentor is already pushing me since he wants to present our magazine concept plus website to the school as soon as possible....
Thanks to Natasha, Marco and Patrick I had at least a quiet relaxing weekend if you do not consider that I have to plan the trip to Germany in December for AEGEE.
But I am going to tell you more about it the next time.
So coming soon: the trip to Amsterdam, the birthday party of Patrick and Marco and planning to the trip to Germany :)
