Geneva, Lausanne & Co

I am back.
Back from 3 wonderful days in Switzerland.
Steph and I went off to an awesome trip visiting some of THE spots at the Lake Geneva.

Since the prices for hotel accommodation in and around Geneva (hostels starting at €40 pppn) are incredibly high, we decided to do some camping. Actually this is not a bad idea if we would have bought some mattresses beforehand.
I have to admit that René was so kind to offer us one of his but I was thinking Steph and I would be so smart to buy two ourselves.
Well, consequently we did the hard version of camping :)

Our trip was supposed to go from Friday morning over the whole Saturday and Sunday until Monday very very early morning.

We stayed at one Camping place somewhere close to Geneva at the Lake. We had a wonderful view and if there would not have been the planes which were coming to land at Geneva airport every 2-5 minutes it would have been so peaceful, too.
But wherever we went around a distance of about 40 km you could hear the planes from every side of the Lake.
I guess the inhabitant just accept the noise because every 2-5 minutes around 100 tourists and business man land at their airport.

Nonetheless the noise of the planes did not stop us from traveling around.

Geneva itself was reserved for one whole day. The first half of the day we discovered this beautiful city by foot. The other half we went by bike to check out all the International Organizations like the UNO.
I did not expect Geneva to be that hilly. Especially all these organizations were situated on top of the city. However thinking that this bike tour was already exhausting I was not aware about Lausanne which has a difference in height of more than 300 meter.

The following days we went to small cities around the lake. A boat trip to the French site of the Lake Geneva was also included. Besides we had a very sportive bike tour in Lausanne which I have to say did not impress me as much as Geneva. Actually I have to release that I was even a bit disappointed about Lausanne.

Our trip ended with a 'fantastic' night at the airport where we left at 6 in the morning to head of to Amsterdam. From the time we landed at Amsterdam airport to the point where we finally got home, it took us more than 3 h. I mean isn't it pathetic to travel for one hour between Geneva and Amsterdam and then it takes you more than 3 hours for a 30-40 km distance within Holland....
What can I say...Good old Holland :D

Happily Geneva was praised with sun for the 3 days. Back in Holland it is raining almost non stop.

Guys, I can tell you, I am so sick of this weather, this rain. It can be just so much better in Buenos Aires ... in less than 2 weeks :)

I am sorry if you have to look at so many pics this time but making more than 500 photos over three days does it not make easier to select the best ones at the end;)
